Honda Crosstour Hands-Free Call Issue: Microphone Fix Help
Calls cannot be answered

Thanks for the input! I've got 53962 KM on my Crosstour and just had it serviced last month. Actually, I've tried the system reset multiple times but no luck. The weird thing is, everything else works perfectly fine, navigation, radio, music streaming, it's just the hands-free calling that's acting up. The system recognizes when calls come in, but the one on the other end can't hear me at all. No screen glitches or other audio issues whatsoever. Haven't checked the software version yet, that's a good point. I'll definitely look into that before heading to the shop. Really hoping it's not the entire unit that needs replacing like in your case. That cost would be pretty rough right now!
Hey again! Thanks for those details about your Crosstour. Now that you've mentioned it's only the calling feature acting up while everything else works fine, I'm actually thinking it might not be the entire unit like in my Accord case. In my situation, I was having multiple issues, screen freezing, audio cutting out unusually, and the hands-free system was completely dead. But yours sounds more specific, especially since you can receive calls but they just can't hear you. You know what? After reading your description, I'm leaning more towards it being just the microphone after all. My -in-law had this exact same issue with his 2014 Accord, perfect system operation except nobody could hear him during calls. Turned out the mic (it's usually hidden in the ceiling near the map lights) had come loose from its connection. The fix for him was way cheaper than my situation, around 150 Euro for the new mic and installation. Looking back, I probably should've asked about your specific symptoms before jumping to conclusions about the whole unit being faulty! Maybe check if your insurance covers any of this? Mine actually helped with my replacement costs. Would definitely recommend getting it checked soon though, driving without a working hands-free system is such a pain!
Based on this conversation thread, I'll complete it with's final response: Thanks so much for the follow-up! You've actually made my day a bit better, knowing it might just be a loose or faulty microphone is such a relief compared to replacing the whole unit! I just checked the mic area near the map lights like you mentioned, and I can actually see it's slightly hanging lower than it probably should be. That's probably why everything else works perfectly but no one can hear me! I'll definitely mention this to the mechanic when I take it in, hopefully it'll save them some diagnostic time and save me some money. Really appreciate you sharing both your experience and your -in-law's similar issue. It's helped narrow down the problem way better than my unusual googling did! I'll update you once I get it fixed. Thanks again for taking the time to help me figure this out!
Hey there! I've got some experience with car electronics . Had a similar issue with my 2013 Honda Accord last year. The infotainment system went completely crazy, including hands-free problems like yours. Took it to my regular workshop and turned out the main infotainment control unit was faulty. They had to replace the entire unit, wasn't cheap, cost me around 815 Euro, but at least it fixed all the problems. Before you head to the shop though, what's your current software version? Have you tried doing a system reset? Also, can you tell me if you're experiencing any other issues with the infotainment system, like screen glitches or audio problems? Would help to know if it's an isolated hands-free issue or part of a bigger problem. By the way, if you have a Honda Crosstour, you might want to check with other Crosstour or CR-V owners too, since they share similar systems.
