Thanks for your input! My CR-V has 284264 KM and I just had a service done last month. Actually, it happens mostly when the engine is cold, especially during morning starts. Haven't checked the error codes yet because my scanner's acting up, but I'll get those checked asap. No major repairs recently except for regular maintenance stuff. Good to know yours was just a software issue, that would definitely be the best-case scenario! I'm gonna have it checked out by my mechanic tomorrow. Really hoping it's something simple like in your case. Thanks again for the help!
Hey again! Thanks for those details about your CR-V. You know, hearing that it happens mostly during cold starts actually makes me think back to what I discovered with my HR-V. Initially, I thought I just got lucky with that ECU reset I mentioned, but I later found out there was actually a bit more to my story. After a few weeks, the same symptoms came back, and it turned out the cold start issues were related to my fuel injectors, they were pretty gunked up after all those kilometers. Since you mentioned your car's at 284K km, it could be facing the same thing. In my case, I ended up getting the injectors cleaned and had to replace one that was too far gone. After that, all those symptoms, the power loss, check engine light, and starting issues, completely disappeared. Cost me a bit more than I hoped, but way better than having to deal with bigger engine problems down the road. Let me know what your mechanic says tomorrow! If the injectors end up being the culprit, at least you'll know you're not alone in dealing with this stuff. These diesels can be tricky sometimes, but they're solid engines once you sort out these kinds of issues.
Really appreciate you sharing your full experience! That's super helpful to know about the injectors, makes a lot of sense given the symptoms and mileage. My gut was telling me it might be something more serious with the engine, so I'm actually relieved to hear about your injector situation. Definitely going to mention this to my mechanic tomorrow and have him check them out. The cost thing isn't great news, but like you said, better than dealing with major engine work! Honestly, knowing someone else went through the same thing and got it sorted makes me feel much better about the whole situation. I'll update you once I find out what's actually going on with mine. Thanks again for taking the time to help me out with this!
Hi there! I've got some experience with cars and actually faced something very similar with my 2014 Honda HR-V diesel. Had the exact same symptoms, engine light, sluggish performance, and starting issues. After scanning it, turned out there were multiple error codes that popped up because of some previous fixes that weren't properly cleared from the system. My mechanic just needed to do a proper reset of the ECU and clear all the old error codes. Didn't cost me anything since it was just a software issue. Before jumping to conclusions about cylinder pressure though, Any recent repairs or maintenance? Are you getting any specific error codes? Does it happen more when the engine's cold or warm? Let me know these details and I can probably help you narrow it down!
