Honda City Hybrid TPMS Issues: False Pressure Alerts?
Tire pressure to low

Thanks for sharing your experience! I've got the top trim City Hybrid with 156431 KM on the clock. In my case, it's showing warnings for both front tires unusually, even right after checking them. I was hoping it wouldn't be the sensors, but sounds like I might be facing the same issue as you. Did your mechanic mention how long the sensor replacement job took? I'm trying to plan whether I need a loaner car. Also wondering if it's worth checking if this is covered under the extended warranty since my last service was just two months ago. Really appreciate the tip about manual checks, been doing that religiously just to be on the safe side!
Hey again! Yeah, that definitely sounds similar to what I experienced, those unusual front tire warnings are exactly what I dealt with! I know how annoying it can be. For the repair time, my mechanic had my car ready in about 3 hours, but I'd actually recommend planning for a full day just to be safe. My 2018 Insight needed some extra work because one of the sensor threads was a bit corroded (probably from all that winter driving!). About the warranty, definitely check that out! I wish I had done that first. I later found out that some Honda extended warranties do cover TPMS sensors, but I'd already paid for the repair. Don't make my mistake! Just something extra I learned, if you're getting warnings specifically for the front tires, the sensor antennas might not be the only issue. Sometimes the wheel speed sensors can mess with the TPMS readings too. Might be worth asking them to check those while they're at it. Let me know how it goes with the warranty claim! And yeah, keep doing those manual checks, better safe than sorry!
Thanks so much for all the detailed info! This is super helpful. I've actually just called my Honda dealer and you'll be glad to know I learned from your warranty experience, turns out my extended warranty does cover TPMS sensors! Really appreciate the heads up about the repair timing too. I'll definitely plan for a full day and arrange for alternative transport just to be safe. And thanks for mentioning the wheel speed sensors, I'll make sure to have them check that as well. Better to catch any related issues while they're already working on it! You've been incredibly helpful with all this advice. Will definitely update this thread once I get it fixed in case anyone else runs into similar issues with their Honda hybrids!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2018 Honda Insight (also experienced this on a Honda Jazz). I've got some experience working on cars, but mostly basic maintenance stuff. The same thing happened to me, constant low pressure warnings despite properly inflated tires. Took it to my regular workshop and they diagnosed faulty TPMS sensor antennas. Had to get them replaced, cost me around 255 Euro, but it fixed the problem completely. No more false warnings since then! What's your exact City Hybrid model/trim level? Also, are you getting warnings for all tires or just specific ones? This info would help me share more relevant details about the fix. Quick tip: While waiting for repairs, don't ignore the warnings completely, still check your tire pressure manually just to be safe!
