Power windows malfunction
Fault stored

Thanks for sharing your experience! My battery is actually fairly new (replaced it 8 months ago), so I don't think that's the culprit in my case. Just had my service at 142,565 KM, and everything else electrical seems to be working fine, no dim lights or starting issues. The window problem seems pretty isolated, it's just the power window system showing that fault code. Guess I'll need to dig a bit deeper. Might try resetting the window controls first before taking it to the shop. Has anyone else tried this with their BR-V?
Hey again! Yeah, since you mentioned your battery is new and other electrical stuff is working fine, this does seem more specific to the window system than what I dealt with. After my battery episode with my CR-V, I actually had another window issue about two months ago, completely different problem though. The driver's side window started acting weird, not responding properly to the auto up/down function. I tried the reset procedure (you know, holding the button down for a few seconds after the window's fully down, then up again), but it didn't solve it. Turned out the window motor was starting to fail. Got it replaced and it's been working perfectly since. Cost me about 380 Euro including labor, but totally worth it to have properly working windows again. If the reset doesn't work for you, might be worth having someone check the motor or the regulator itself. These things do wear out eventually, even in well-maintained cars like yours. The mileage you mentioned (142,565 km) is about when these parts start showing their age. Let me know how the reset goes, curious to hear if you have better luck with it than I did!
Based on the conversation, I would respond as: Thanks for the detailed follow-up! I just tried the reset procedure you mentioned but unfortunately no luck, the fault code is still there. You might be onto something with the motor theory though. Now that you mention it, I've noticed the driver's side window has been a bit sluggish lately, especially when going up. Not as smooth as it used to be. Think I'll take it to the shop and have them check both the motor and regulator. Really appreciate you sharing the cost info too, helps me budget for what might be coming. At least it's not a complete mystery anymore! Will definitely update once I get it looked at. Thanks again for all the help!
Hey there! I've got some experience working on cars (not a pro, but I've dealt with my fair share of issues). Had a similar problem with my 2014 Honda CR-V last year. The power windows started acting up, and initially I thought it was just a software glitch. Took it to my regular workshop, and turns out it was actually a battery issue causing the electrical systems to act weird. The old battery wasn't providing consistent power, which messed with the window regulators and other electronics. Got a new battery installed, cost me around 290 Euro, and that fixed everything, windows started working perfectly again. Before you jump to conclusions about the window regulator, might be worth checking your battery's condition. How old is your current battery? Have you noticed any other electrical issues, like dim lights or slow starter? Let me know your battery's age and if you've spotted any other electrical quirks, might help pinpoint if you're dealing with the same issue I had.
