Honda Amaze Headlight Leveling System Warning Alert

Headlamp leveller malfunction

|

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey everyone! Having some trouble with my 2020 Honda Amaze diesel (187k km). The headlight leveling system's acting up, and there's a warning light on the dash. Last mechanic visit wasn't great, so I'm hesitant to go back. Has anyone dealt with similar headlight control issues on their Amaze? What was the fix, and did you find a reliable mechanic who actually knew what they were doing? Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2017 Honda City diesel (also had around 160k km when it happened). The headlight leveling system warning came on, and the lights weren't adjusting properly. Turned out to be a faulty servomotor in the headlight assembly. My mechanic diagnosed it after running some electronic tests. Had to replace the servomotor and recalibrate the system. It wasn't a major repair in terms of complexity, but getting the right part was important. The whole job took about 2 hours. Just make sure whoever works on it knows their way around Honda's electrical systems. Since it's a safety feature, you'll want it done right. My lights have been working perfectly since the fix, and that was about 30k km ago. Best of luck with yours!

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful as I'm dealing with the exact same issue. I'm glad to hear it was just the servomotor and nothing more serious. By the way, do you remember roughly how much you paid for the repair? Also, has everything been working smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other electrical quirks? My Amaze has been pretty reliable overall, but these electrical gremlins can be tricky!

Hey again! Yeah, happy to give you the update! I just got mine fixed last week actually, cost me 1040€ for the whole job, including the servomotor replacement and labor. A bit pricey, but totally worth it since it's such an important safety feature. The headlight range control is working perfectly now, no more warning lights or adjustment issues. The mechanic I went to really knew their stuff with Honda's electrical systems. Such a relief to have proper working headlights again! Haven't noticed any other electrical issues since the repair, everything's running smoothly. My City's been super reliable too aside from this one problem. I'm now at about 190k km and it's still going strong. These Honda diesels are built to last, aren't they? Just keep on top of the regular maintenance and they'll treat you right. Let me know if you need any other info! Happy to help a fellow Honda owner out.

Hey, thanks again for all the details! I actually just got back from getting mine fixed yesterday. Had a good experience this time, found a mechanic who specializes in Honda electrical systems through a. They diagnosed and fixed it pretty quick! Funny enough, it was exactly what you mentioned, faulty servomotor. Cost me about the same as yours too. The mechanic showed me the old part and explained everything, which I really appreciated. They even did a full system check to make sure there weren't any other issues lurking around. The headlights are working perfectly now, and that annoying warning light is finally gone! Such a relief to have it sorted. You're right about these Hondas, super reliable overall. Just goes to show how important it is to find the right mechanic who knows what they're doing. Thanks again for helping me out with this. It really helped me know what to expect when I took it in!
