Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! Sounds exactly like what I'm going through right now. That fuel injector diagnosis makes perfect sense with all these symptoms. Just got mine fixed last week, huge relief to have the car running smoothly again! Quick question, do you remember roughly how much you paid for the injector replacement and cleaning? Also, have you had any other issues pop up since the repair? Thanks!
Hey there! Glad to hear you got it sorted out! Yeah, I ended up paying 515€ for the whole injector replacement job, which honestly wasn't as bad as I feared given how much better the car runs now. The best part is that since getting it fixed, my car's been running like a charm, no more error codes showing up for the lean mixture problem. The black smoke completely disappeared, and the engine's response is spot on now. It's amazing what a difference a properly working injector makes! I've put about 15,000 km on it since the repair, and I haven't had a single issue pop up. Fuel economy is back to normal too, which is saving me some decent money at the pump. Just make sure you're using good quality fuel and keeping up with regular maintenance, and you should be golden. Really happy to hear you've sorted yours out too, these symptoms can be pretty scary when you don't know what's causing them!
Thanks for the detailed response! That's actually a bit cheaper than what I paid, mine came to about 650 € with parts and labor. But honestly, totally worth it considering how much better everything's running now. Had my first long drive yesterday since the repair, and what a difference! No more black smoke, engine's super responsive, and the fuel consumption is way better. The mechanic I found did a great job, they even showed me the old injector and explained exactly what was wrong with it. Really helped me understand what was going on. The only thing I wish is that I'd caught it earlier. The mechanic said I was lucky there wasn't any serious damage to other parts. Definitely learned my lesson about getting weird engine symptoms checked out right away. Thanks again for your help! Really appreciate you sharing your experience, it helped me feel more confident about getting this sorted out.
Had the same issues with my 2011 Honda City last year. Black smoke, rough idle, and terrible fuel economy were exactly what I experienced. Turned out to be a faulty fuel injector, it wasn't atomizing fuel properly, which explained the rich fuel mixture and black smoke. The fix required replacing the defective injector and cleaning the remaining ones. It was a serious issue that needed immediate attention because bad injectors can damage other engine components if left unchecked. My car ran like new after the repair, smooth acceleration, normal fuel consumption, and no more black smoke. The symptoms you're describing match my experience perfectly. Would strongly recommend getting those injectors checked. A proper diagnostic scan will confirm if that's your issue.
