Heating and ventilation problems in the 2004 Ford Excursion - Suspected AUC sensor

Blower does not work properly

|

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hi guys, I'm having a bit of trouble with my 2004 Ford Excursion and its gasoline engine. The problem is that the heater/ventilation is acting up and not running properly. It is not producing enough heat or coolness. I suspect it may be a signal error on the AUC sensor. Have any of you experienced this before and know the best way to solve it? I would appreciate your experience reports and tips. How did you deal with the problem in your workshop? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2006 Ford Expedition. I'm not much of a car expert, but I do have some experience. In my case, the sensor itself was defective. The repair in my garage cost around 90 euros. However, before replacing such a sensor, all other possibilities should be ruled out, as the AUC sensor is normally quite reliable and lasts quite a long time. Could you tell me a bit more about your vehicle, for example how many kilometers it has been driven and whether there were any noticeable symptoms before? That might give me more clues to help you further.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! Well, my Ford already has 143106km on it and the last service was recently. Apart from that, there have been no special incidents. At first I thought it might be the age of the car, but your comment makes me doubt it now. I guess I will have to have a professional spend more money. Hopefully it won't be too expensive. Thanks again for your help!

Hello again! Well, given your mileage, it could well be that your sensor is simply past its best. The cost of my repair was relatively high, mainly due to the replacement of the sensor. Ford sensors aren't exactly the cheapest. However, as other things such as a blocked radiator valve, a defective pump or a blocked radiator can also lead to insufficient cooling/heating, I would definitely ask your garage to check these things too. Hopefully that will help a little. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it won't be anything too expensive! Let us know if anything turns up. It's always good to learn from each other. All the best and see you soon!
