Heating and mirror problems in Peugeot 206 Diesel from 2003
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Peugeot 206 diesel is experiencing issues with its heating/cooling system and mirror defrosting. The suspected cause is a faulty water valve in the cooling circuit. A similar case involved defective cable connections and plugs, which were resolved by a mechanic through standard repairs. The suggested solution is to have a mechanic inspect and possibly replace the connections and plugs to restore proper function.

Hey, thanks for your quick reply! Good to know that it is indeed the water valve. You say it was a standard repair - can you remember roughly how much it cost you? And has everything been okay with your Peugeot since the repair? Any new problems since then?

Hello, of course I still remember the costs. I paid about €155 to fix the cable connection and the faulty plug on the water valve. Since the mechanic fixed the water valve on the cooling circuit, everything has been running smoothly again. No new problems have arisen so far, everything is tip-top! I hope your repair goes just as smoothly. Good luck!

Great, thanks for the info. 155 sounds like a fair price if everything works again afterwards. It's great that you didn't have any further problems. That reassures me and I'm now a bit more optimistic. Now I'll make an appointment with my mechanic and hope that it won't be more expensive. I will report back! Thanks again for your help, really cool of you!

Hello, I had a similar problem with my Peugeot 208 from 2000. Like yours, the heating/cooling didn't work properly and the mirror didn't defrost either. In my case, it was actually the water valve of the cooling circuit that was to blame and it was a problem with the cable connection and a plug, both of which were defective. So you are probably right in your assumption. So I first tried to disconnect the valve and reconnect it, but that didn't help. In the end, I had to go to a mechanic. He then replaced all the connections and plugs. This sounded like a major issue to me at first, but the mechanic said that it was actually a standard repair and fixed it in the workshop within a day. I hope I was able to help you, good luck with your car!
