Hey, I'm glad I could give you some hope! Of course, I still remember the costs. I paid €880 for the repair of the air conditioning control unit (that's the control unit). Not exactly a bargain, but after that everything was fine again. And to your second question: No, there were no further problems after that. Oh, and as for the refrigerant compressor - it was actually faulty on my last visit to the workshop. So it's fixed! Since then, the air conditioning has been running like clockwork. Hope that helps you!

Very helpful info, thank you! That amount does seem high, but if it solves the problem for good, it will probably be worth the cost. I'm glad to hear that you haven't had any other problems and that your refrigerant compressor is now fine. That gives me a little more peace of mind. Thanks again for the tips, I really appreciate them. I wish you continued safe driving!

Hi, I can sympathize with your pain. Had a similar problem with my 2013 Mercedes Sprinter. But in my case it wasn't the refrigerant compressor. The air conditioning control unit (control unit) was defective. The air conditioning switched itself on and off and couldn't maintain the temperature. It was really annoying, especially in summer! After a visit to the workshop, the control unit was replaced and the problem was solved. It wasn't a big deal, so don't worry about it. But it's definitely worth a visit to a good garage that doesn't do things by halves. Have a professional look at it again to make sure. Maybe you'll be lucky and it will be a minor repair. Hopefully that will help you! Good luck!
