Hey, thanks for the quick reply! It looks like my suspicion about the auxiliary heater was correct. Do you happen to remember how much the whole thing cost you? And have there been any problems since the repair or has everything been running smoothly? I'd be really interested to know how best to prepare myself. Thanks in advance!

Hey, no problem! Well, the repair of the electric auxiliary heater actually cost €350. That's quite a lot of money, but since then the heating and cooling have been running like clockwork again. The issue with the fault with the electric auxiliary heater or the climate control was resolved after the visit to the mechanic. So far there have been no further problems! So, be prepared to spend a bit of money, but after that everything should be running smoothly again!

Oh, the cost is quite high, but if everything works again afterwards, I think it's worth it. I'm glad you haven't had any further problems since the repair. That gives me hope that it could be the same for me. I really thank you for your help. You've given me a lot of clarity and now I feel a little less stressed before I go to the mechanic. Thank you again!

Hey, had the same problem with my 2014 Toyota RAV4. The heating and cooling were completely messed up. Turns out the electric auxiliary heater was actually defective. Basically, the entire auxiliary heater had to be replaced. The fault was in the control circuit for the auxiliary heater, which was a more serious problem because the car just wasn't getting the right temperature inside. It was a bit annoying, especially in winter, but once it was fixed, everything ran as normal again. Prepare yourself for a thorough inspection. Hope that helps!
