Heating and Cooling Issues with 2019 Hyundai ix35

Mirror doesn't defrost

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey! I'm having a bit of trouble with my 2019 Hyundai ix35 (gas model, about 87k kms on the clock). It's not cooling or heating properly, and the mirror's not defrosting too. Sounds like a dodgy cooling circuit water valve to me but I'm no expert! Last time the mechanic was no help, so thought I'd see if any of you guys have had the same problem? Looking forward to your advice guys, cheers!

Hey there, Yeah, had a similar issue with my 2016 Hyundai Tucson a while back and it did turn out to be a problem with my cooling circuit water valve. My garage guy discovered that the valve plug was defective, and since the water valve regulates the heating and cooling in the car, you can imagine how it affected the car's overall performance. Additionally, they found a loose cable connection too which was causing a mess with some of the auxiliary options like mirror defrosting. Long story short, you need to get your car checked out pronto. Yeah, it's a bit of a serious issue, wouldn’t leave it for long as it affects your car's overall performance and comfort. They'll likely need to replace the water valve plug and fix up the cable connections. Don't sweat it though. Once it's all fixed up you'll be right as rain. Hope this helps!

Hey! Wow, that sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with! That loose cable might explain the mirror defrosting issues too. I'm relieved to hear there might be an actual solution - thought I was going crazy for a sec. Quick question – do you recall approximately how much you ended up spending to get both the water valve plug and cable connections fixed? Also, since you've had it repaired, has anything else related to this issue popped up? Thanks a bunch, really appreciate it!

Hey! Yeah, I remember the bills kinda well, considering it wasn't too long ago. Fixing that cable connection and the faulty water valve plug set me back around 155.00 €. Sounds a bit steep but believe me, it's worth every penny to get the job done right. As for your second question - since the repair, it's been smooth sailing. No other issue popped up. Can't make any guarantees but I reckon sorting out these issues should have your Hyundai ix35 right back on track. No worries, always happy to help out! Let me know how it goes. Cheers!

Hey! Oh, that's decent! Given how irritating the issue's been, I'm ready to cough up that amount if it means I get a smooth drive again. It’s a relief to hear nothing new came up too. Thanks for all your help – truly appreciate it! I’ll definitely keep you posted about how things pan out. Cheers!
