Heated Windows Fault in 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid at 12.5k km - Seeking Advice

Heated windows without function

|

Fault stored

Hey everyone, got a bit of a situation here with my 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid. She's just gone past 12.5k km. Recently noticed my heated windows have stopped working and found a stored fault. Given my unmerry experience with my last mechanic, I'm wary and guessing the issue's related to my windscreen heating acting up. Anyone else faced the same nightmare? What did your mechanic say or do? Just trying to get a feel for what I might be dealing with here. Cheers!

Hey, interestingly enough, I had a vaguely similar issue with my 2016 Renault Kadjar not so long ago. Found my windshield heat and a few other electricals having a rough time, just like yours. Turned out, it wasn't the heating circuit as I first thought, but the vehicle battery not kicking in properly. Basically, the battery was weak, and it wasn't holding the charge as it should - hence, causing other parts of the vehicle to act up. Took it to the garage and they confirmed my suspicion. No way around it, but they had to replace the battery. Now, I'm not implying that your scenario is identical, but it could be worth a peek. Mind you, it was a relatively serious issue, as without a properly functioning battery, you could end up stranded somewhere. So, dealing with the battery problem is pretty urgent if that's indeed the cause. Just sharing my experience, so it could give you an insight. And yeah, always be cautious with garage picks, some of 'em can be a royal pain. Good luck with your Arkana. Cheers!

Hey there, thanks for sharing your firsthand experience with the Renault Kadjar, those tricky electrical gremlins can definitely throw a spanner in the works. Battery trouble, huh? That's a possibility I didn't consider, been too focused on the windscreen heating. The last thing I want is to end up on the side of the road because of a dodgy battery. Appreciate that perspective! Just curious about your fix — do you recall what it set you back and if any other issues popped up afterward? I understand it might vary depending on the garage, but an estimate could help with my budgeting here. Hopefully, this is the only problem and the Arkana sails smoothly from there. Cheers!

Hey! No worries, glad my story could help out. About the fix costs - I can still vividly recall the somewhat painful parting with 290€. Haha! But then, being stranded somewhere road-side isn't the happiest thought, right? So, in hindsight, I'd say money well spent. To answer your second question, no untoward issues afterward. In fact, once that weak battery got replaced, everything started working perfectly again. Grand news about the windscreen heating feature, gadzooks! It's back to normal, no fuss at all since I got it back from the mechanic. I'm pretty chuffed about that! All the best with your Arkana, hope it's a simple and not too costly fix. Cheers!

Hey again! Thanks for the detailed response! 290€ huh? Not a small amount, but a wise investment considering the alternatives... ending up stranded on a chilly eve is not high on my list of things to do. It's good to hear your Kadjar didn't give you any grief after changing the battery. Gives me a glimmer of hope that my Arkana scenario might not be as gloomy as I thought. I really appreciate you sharing your experience. Will first get the mechanics to check if it's a battery-related issue before breaking a sweat on the windscreen heating acting up. Here's hoping for a swift and simple resolution to this problem. Headed to the garage first thing in the morning, wish me luck. I'll update the thread as soon as I have some info. Cheers!
