Heated Mirrors Dead on Honda Jade, Fix & Cost Guide

Fault stored

Heated windows without function

Hey everyone! Having some trouble with my 2016 Honda Jade (113K km, gas engine). The heated mirrors stopped working completely, and there's a warning light. Last mechanic I dealt with wasn't great, so I'm a bit hesitant about going back. Has anyone experienced similar issues with their heated mirrors? What was the actual problem and repair cost? Would appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thanks!

Hey there! I actually faced a similar issue with my 2019 Honda Accord (gasoline). The heated mirrors stopped working suddenly, and I got that warning light too. Turned out the cable connection to the mirror was defective, and the plug connection had oxidized pretty badly. The fix wasn't too complicated, they had to replace the wiring harness for the mirror and clean the connection points. Not a serious problem, but definitely something that needs proper attention to prevent moisture from getting in and causing more damage. The whole repair took about two hours at the garage. It's the kind of job where experience matters because they need to partially disassemble the door panel to access the connections properly. I'd recommend finding a certified Honda mechanic for this one, as they'll know exactly where to look and what to check. Just make sure they test both mirrors properly after the repair, mine work perfectly now. Good luck with the fix!

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! The damaged wiring harness issue sounds exactly like what's happening with my Jade. Before I book an appointment, would you mind telling me how much you ended up paying for the repair? Also, has everything been working fine since then, or did you notice any other electrical quirks popping up? Really appreciate the help!

Hey again! Good to hear back from you! After my last post, I actually went and got it fixed, perfect timing to share the final costs with you! The total came to 155€ which included both labor and parts. I thought it was pretty reasonable considering they had to take apart the door panel and deal with all those fiddly connections. And I've got great news, the mirrors are working perfectly now! The heating kicks in exactly like it should, and that annoying warning light is gone for good. It's been several months since the repair, and I haven't noticed any other electrical issues at all. Everything's running smoothly. Honestly, getting it fixed was totally worth it. The mechanic showed me the oxidized connections when they took it apart, it was pretty obvious why they weren't working! They cleaned everything up properly and made sure all the connections were sealed well to prevent future moisture problems. If your issue is similar to what I had, you should be looking at around the same cost. Definitely worth getting it sorted before winter comes around! Let me know how it goes when you get yours fixed!

Thanks so much for all the detailed info! Finally got it fixed yesterday, and you were spot on about everything. My repair cost was actually a bit less, around 140 € total. The mechanic I found was really thorough and showed me exactly what was wrong. Just like your case, it was the wiring harness causing the problem. They had to replace some corroded connections and seal everything up properly. The whole job took about 2 hours, and now both mirrors are working perfectly again. That annoying warning light is finally gone too! Really glad I didn't put this off any longer. The mechanic mentioned that if I'd waited, moisture could've caused more serious electrical issues. Definitely money well spent, and I'm much more confident about driving in cold weather now. Thanks again for your help, it really made me feel more confident about getting it repaired. Nice to know I wasn't being overcharged either! Take care!
