Good call on the connectors. I did check them visually, but didn't get too deep. Is there a specific way to test the connectors beyond just looking for corrosion? I'm wondering if the control module could also be involved.

Beyond visual inspection, you'd need to use a multimeter to check for voltage and continuity at the connector. Also check the ground. While the control module could be the issue, it's less common than a failed servomotor. Given the symptoms, I'd still lean towards the servomotor. Probably best to get it properly diagnosed at a workshop.

Appreciate the input. Took it to a shop and you were spot on, servomotor in the headlight was indeed the culprit. New part, coding, and alignment later and the light intensity is back to normal. 1040€ lighter now, but at least the auto-leveling is working again.

Sounds like a faulty headlight servomotor as you suspected. Have you checked the electrical connectors to the headlight assembly? Sometimes a loose or corroded connection can cause issues with the adaptive headlights.
