Headlight Issues in 2020 Nissan Altima: Possible Indicator Defect?

Low beam and high beam seems too high or too low

Dim or flickering lights

Subject: Headlight issues with my 2020 Nissan Altima - Indicator defect? Hey there fellow Nissan drivers, need some insight here. My 2020 Altima with around 17k on the clock has been having some odd issues with the headlights. They seem to be too high or too low, whether I'm in low or high beam mode - not your regular adjustment fault, it feels like. Plus the lights get dim and flicker every now and then. I'm guessing it could be related to an Indicator defect, but I ain't no mechanic. Previous experience with a mechanic visit didn't go so hot, so thought I'd check with you folks first. Has anyone faced similar issues and what was your experience at the mechanic like? Appreciate you sharing your experiences! Best,

Hey there! I see where you're coming from. Just recently, my 2017 Nissan Sentra was acting the same - headlights were off and sometimes they'd flicker a bit too. I ain't no mechanic either, but after a visit to the garage, turned out it wasn't as bad as I thought. It wasn't actually an indicator defect, but a problem with the headlight alignment and an electrical issue. We've got automatic lamps in ours, right? So, they adjusted the beam angles and found a loose wire in the circuit. That tiny bugger was causing the flickering and dimming. It wasn't a serious thing but had to be taken care of. So, I'd say get it checked - you don't want to risk driving around with unreliable headlights. It might be just these or maybe something else but better safe than sorry. Peace and happy driving,

Hey, thanks for the insight! Sounds like a similar deal to what's happening with my Altima. It's funny, isn't it? These little issues can really throw you for a loop, but hearing that it was just a alignment and loose wire issue makes me breathe a bit easier. Just curious though, do you remember ballpark what you ended up paying for that fix? And has anything else cropped up since you got that sorted? Hope your Sentra's treating you right,

Hey there! Tell me about it! These tiny problems can really get under your skin, but it's all part of the ride. And yeah, my Sentra's doing just fine, thanks for asking! Now, getting to your questions, I remember that the mechanic charged me around 102.50€ to fix the headlight issue. That mainly went towards sorting out the 'A' lamp alarm. And since you asked about the Indicator issue? Well, good news! That's settled now since my last visit to the mechanic, so you've got that to look forward to. Since the fix, it's been smooth sailing, no new issues cropping up, just the open road ahead. So, no need for extra stress, just take your Altima to a reliable mechanic and you'll be set. Take care and safe driving,

Thanks a ton for the detailed reply! It's a relief to know it wasn't too expensive a fix. Must say, I was bracing myself for a hefty bill but 102.5€ seems quite fair - especially considering I've already got a 'A' lamp alarm too. And hearing that you haven't had any new issues makes me feel a lot more optimistic about it. I guess it's time for a trip to a trustworthy mechanic. Your experience sounds pretty reassuring, so fingers crossed mine goes just as smoothly. Safe travels in your Sentra,
