Grandland X Trans Issues: Grinding Gears & Whining Sound

Hey there! I've got some experience working on cars (moderate DIY level). I had a really similar issue with my 2016 Vauxhall Insignia diesel last year. Those symptoms sound exactly like what I dealt with. In my case, it turned out to be a valve cable connection that went bad. Took it to my regular mechanic, and they diagnosed it pretty quickly. The fix cost me about 170€ which included parts and labor, they had to replace the faulty connection. What engine size does your GrandlandX have? And how many miles are on it?
