Hey again! Absolutely, happy to fill you in on the details! Yeah, I ended up paying around €265 to get the exhaust system sorted out. The main thing was fixing those nasty leaks, and they also replaced the exhaust gas temperature sensor while they were at it. Since that repair last summer, my Crossland's been running like a dream, no more weird smells or engine lights! I'm actually really glad I went to that new garage because they properly diagnosed everything. The temperature sensor was definitely causing the DPF regeneration issues, but once they fixed that and patched up the exhaust leaks, all those problems disappeared. No other issues have cropped up since, and the car's performance is back to normal. If you're still looking for a garage recommendation, I'd be happy to share where I went. They really knew their stuff with Vauxhalls, and the price was pretty reasonable for the work done. Let me know if you need any other details!
Thanks so much for all the info! You've actually helped me make up my mind. I bit the bullet and took it to a mechanic yesterday, turns out you were spot on about the exhaust system. My issues were pretty similar, but thankfully not as extensive. The mechanic found a small crack and a faulty sensor, fixed both for about €180. Just picked up the car today and wow, what a difference! The engine light's off, no more weird smells, and it's running so much smoother. Feels like I've got a new car! The mechanic was really honest and explained everything clearly, definitely sticking with this garage from now on. Thanks again for sharing your experience. It really helped me stop worrying and just get it sorted. Now I can finally enjoy driving my Grandland again without stressing about every little noise!
Hey there! I had similar issues with my 2018 Vauxhall Crossland X Hybrid last summer. The symptoms you're describing sound exactly like what I experienced, the exhaust leak was pretty significant in my case. When I got it checked out at a different garage (I switched from my regular one), they found multiple issues: a cracked exhaust manifold and damaged sensors that were causing the DPF problems. It turned out to be more serious than I initially thought. The exhaust manifold crack was letting gases escape before the DPF, which explained both the smell and the regeneration issues. They had to replace the manifold and two sensors to get everything working properly again. The sluggish performance cleared up right after the repair. I'd definitely recommend getting it looked at soon, exhaust leaks can cause other problems if left unchecked. Found a specialist Vauxhall garage that did a proper job of diagnosing and fixing everything. Now the car runs like new.
