Hey, thanks for your quick reply and the experience with your 2016 Golf Diesel. Interesting that you also had something with the engine management... Could actually be something along those lines with my petrol engine. Do you remember what you paid for it back then? And has anything else unforeseen come up since then in relation to the same thing? It's really stupid that workshop visits often bring such surprises... But you're right, safety is definitely the most important thing! Thank you very much in advance!

Hey, no problem, we car enthusiasts have to stick together. In my case, it cost around €45 to change the fuel filter and rectify the resulting fault. So the price was really ok. Fortunately, my mechanic also checked the fuel injection pressure and fixed the problem. Since then, the car has been like new again, no more problems with black smoke or a jerky engine. I agree, garage visits can be really annoying and sometimes they turn into such surprises. But as you rightly say, safety definitely comes first! Keep at it and have your Golf checked thoroughly. All the best!

Hey, cool, that sounds like a tolerable solution. Good to hear everything went well for you and thanks for sharing! I'm going to secure an appointment with my mechanic and address the issue with the engine maganement. I hope it wouldn't be anything serious. As you rightly say, safety first! Thanks again and drive safe!

Hi mate, I had a similar problem with my 2016 Golf Diesel. There was a lot of black smoke and the engine was running rough. It just cut out a few times. The problem was serious enough that I could no longer drive safely. The mechanic explained that it was a problem with the engine management system. A sensor in the engine compartment was faulty and had to be replaced. It could be different for you, of course, but a check of the engine management system might be a good place to start. He also mentioned that an out-of-round engine can have a negative impact on fuel efficiency and overall engine performance. Therefore, it was also important to fix the problem as soon as possible. After the repair, my car ran like clockwork again. I know garage visits can be nerve-wracking, but I suggest getting the car checked thoroughly. Remember, safety first. Hope this helps a little!
