Cruise control without function

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! This really sounds similar to what I'm dealing with. I'm curious do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the fix? Also, has everything been working smoothly since then, or have you run into any other electrical issues? I might as well check everything while I'm at it.
Hey again! Good to hear back from you! Actually, I just got my M35 back from the mechanic last week for this exact issue, and I'm happy to report the cruise control is working perfectly now. All it needed was fixing some dodgy cable connections a fairly simple job that cost me 95€. Much cheaper than I initially feared! Since getting it fixed, everything's been running like a charm. The cruise control kicks in smoothly every time I use it, and I haven't noticed any other electrical gremlins popping up. It's such a relief, especially for those long highway drives. Just to give you a heads up the price I paid might be different from what you'll end up paying, depending on your area and what exactly needs fixing. But at least you know it's probably not going to break the bank! Let me know how it goes when you get yours checked out. These Infinitis are great cars when everything's working right!
Thanks so much for all the info! Just got back from the mechanic today actually. You were spot on about the cable connections! My issue turned out to be pretty similar corroded wiring and a worn-out sensor. The total came to about 120€, which wasn't as bad as I'd feared. The funny part was, when I got there, the mechanic immediately recognized the issue because he'd fixed the same problem on another G35 last month. He even showed me the old corroded parts and explained everything. Much better experience than my last mechanic! The cruise control's working perfectly now, and the car feels great on the highway again. Really appreciate you sharing your experience it gave me the confidence to get it sorted instead of putting it off. These old Infinitis definitely have their quirks, but they're worth keeping in good shape! Thanks again for all your help!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2008 Infiniti M35 last spring. The cruise control completely died on me during a highway trip. After getting it checked, turned out it was a faulty brake pedal position sensor and worn cable connections to the cruise control module. Pretty straightforward fix but definitely needed a proper diagnosis first. Had mine fixed at a certified shop they had to replace the sensor and repair some corroded wiring connections. The job took about 3-4 hours. While it wasn't a super serious issue affecting the car's main functions, it definitely needed proper attention since bad connections can cause other electrical problems down the line. For what it's worth, at those miles, it's pretty common for these connections to get worn out or corroded. Make sure whoever works on it knows their way around Infiniti electrical systems they can be a bit tricky. Hope this helps point you in the right direction!
