FX TPMS Ghost Alerts: Common Fix for Infiniti

Tire pressure to low

Hey everyone, my 2011 Infiniti FX Diesel keeps showing low tire pressure warnings even though I've checked and filled all tires to the correct pressure. Pretty sure it's a TPMS issue, but wanted to know if anyone else has dealt with this problem. What was the actual cause and how did your mechanic fix it? Any specific parts that needed replacement?

Hey there! I have some experience with cars and actually dealt with something very similar on my 2013 Infiniti QX70 Diesel. Had the exact same symptoms constant low pressure warnings despite perfectly fine tire pressure. Turns out the TPMS antennas were shot. Took it to my trusted workshop, and they diagnosed it right away. The fix cost me around 255€ for parts and labor, but it solved the problem completely. Which model year is your FX exactly? Also, are you getting these warnings for all tires or just specific ones? This info would help me share more relevant details from my experience. Just a tip: don't ignore these warnings even if you know your tire pressure is good faulty TPMS sensors can sometimes mask real pressure issues.

Thanks for your response! I have a 2011 FX with 23131 KM on the clock, and it's happening on all four tires. Just had it serviced last month too. Really helpful to know about the antenna issue I was wondering if it might be something like that. Did your mechanic mention how long the repair took? I'd like to plan ahead if I need to leave it at the shop.

Hey again! Yeah, I remember when I had this issue with my QX70. Actually, the repair itself wasn't too time-consuming my mechanic had it done in about 2-3 hours. Pretty straightforward job once they know what they're dealing with. Since your FX is from 2011 (mine's just a bit newer), it's definitely worth checking those antennas. When I had mine fixed, I was able to drop it off in the morning and pick it up after lunch. The mechanic mentioned that these TPMS issues are pretty common on our Infinitis once they hit the 20,000+ km mark. One thing I forgot to mention in my first reply before they replaced my antennas, they also double-checked the sensors themselves just to be sure. Might be worth asking your mechanic to do the same, especially since you're getting warnings on all four tires like I did. Pro tip from my experience: if you're planning to get it fixed, try to schedule it early in the day. That way, if they find any other related issues, they'll have time to sort them out same day. Saved me from having to make a second trip! Let me know how it goes curious to hear if it's the same issue as mine!

Thanks so much for all the detailed info! That's really helpful, especially about scheduling it early in the day definitely gonna do that. Good to know it's only a 2-3 hour job too. I'll give my mechanic a call tomorrow morning and mention the antenna issue, plus ask them to check the sensors while they're at it. Really appreciate you sharing your experience makes me feel better knowing it's a common issue with these models and not something more serious. I'll update you once I get it sorted out! Thanks again for taking the time to help me out with this.
