Seat heating without function

Thanks for sharing your experience! Mine's at 50865 KM and just had its service last month. The heating actually stopped working quite suddenly just didn't turn on one morning. No warning lights on the dash at all, which is what made it extra confusing. That's interesting about the heating mats definitely sounds similar to what I'm experiencing. Did your mechanic mention if this is a common issue with these models? The price doesn't sound too bad if it fixes the problem completely.
Hey again! Yeah, I totally remember when this happened to mine. Actually, when I talked to my mechanic about it later, he mentioned he'd seen quite a few Infinitis from that era with the same problem apparently it's kind of a known issue with these models. Something about the heating elements just giving up after a while. Mine was at about 65000 KM when it happened, so pretty similar to your situation. And yeah, it was exactly the same just woke up one day, tried to turn them on, and nothing! No warning lights, no gradual failure, just completely dead. Super annoying, especially since it happened in the middle of winter! Since you asked about the repair the 390€ I paid included both seats, and honestly, it's been worth every penny. It's been two winters now and they're still working perfectly. The funny thing is, my mechanic said if we'd caught it earlier when it was just starting to fail, it might've been cheaper to fix. But when both seats go at once like that, usually means complete replacement is the way to go. If you're planning to get it fixed, just make sure they use genuine Infiniti parts. I learned that the hard way with other repairs aftermarket stuff just isn't the same quality for these cars.
Thanks so much for all the detailed info! It's actually really reassuring to hear that this is a known issue and not just some unusual problem with my car. The fact that your repair has lasted two winters already is exactly what I wanted to hear. I think I'll go ahead and book it in with my mechanic next week will definitely mention about using genuine Infiniti parts too, that's a great tip! Good to know the cost is around that range I was worried it might be way more expensive. Funny how similar our experiences are with the sudden failure. At least now I know what I'm likely dealing with and won't waste time trying other fixes. Thanks again for all your help really appreciate you sharing your experience with this!
Hey there! I had some experience with a similar issue on my 2012 Infiniti EX diesel I'd say I have low experience with car repairs, mostly basic maintenance stuff. The exact same thing happened both seat heaters stopped working completely. After trying the fuse check like you did, I took it to my regular workshop. Turns out the heating mats in both seats were defective and needed replacement. Cost me around 390€ to fix, but it's been working perfectly since then. What's your mileage and did you notice if it stopped suddenly or gradually got worse? Might help to pinpoint if it's the same issue I had. Also, have you noticed any warning lights on the dash?
