Frozen Cayman Nozzles: DIY Fix or Pro Help Needed?
Spray nozzles frozen

Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful. I was kinda torn between the dealer and a local specialist, but your comment made me feel better about getting it properly checked out. Just wondering, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the repair? And has everything been working smoothly since they fixed it? Thanks!
Hey again! Yes, absolutely, everything's been working perfectly since I got it fixed! No more frozen nozzles this winter, thank goodness. The repair cost me 155€ at my Porsche specialist, which I thought was pretty reasonable considering it involved sorting out that tricky cable connection in the hood area. I actually just had my winter check-up last week, and the mechanic confirmed the heaters are still working great. Honestly, it's such a relief not having to worry about frozen nozzles anymore, you know how annoying that can be, especially when you're trying to clear road salt off your windscreen! Trust me, getting it properly fixed is totally worth it. Better to sort it now than wait for it to cause bigger problems down the line. Let me know how you get on with yours!
Thanks so much for all the info! You were absolutely right, I bit the bullet and took it to a certified Porsche specialist yesterday. Turned out it was exactly what you described, worn wiring in the hood area. Cost me about 180€, which wasn't too bad considering. The funny part was when I got there, the mechanic knew exactly what I was talking about before I even finished explaining! Said he'd fixed quite a few Caymans with the same issue. They even showed me the damaged wiring, it was pretty obvious once they pointed it out. Just tested the washers this morning and they're working perfectly now. Such a relief to have this sorted before winter really kicks in. Thanks again for pushing me to get it properly checked out, saved me from a lot more hassle down the line! Take care!
Hey there, I get your concern. Had a similar issue with my 2011 Porsche Boxster last winter. The washer nozzle heaters stopped working, and the diagnosis showed it was a cable connection defect in the front hood area. The wiring had worn down due to constant opening/closing of the hood. Got it fixed at my regular Porsche specialist, the repair involved replacing the damaged wiring harness and checking all connections. It wasn't a major repair, but definitely needed proper attention to prevent any electrical issues later on. If you're near a certified Porsche mechanic, I'd recommend getting it checked there first. The problem won't fix itself and might get worse with winter coming up. Hope this helps!
