Function of electric tailgate

The tailgate function module (HKFM) has the task of evaluating the electrical signals coming from the driver and converting them into commands to ultimately open or close the tailgate fully automatically.
Signal inputs can be transmitted via front button, rear button or key by radio transmission.

With additional optional equipment, the SmartOpener (under the rear bumper) can be used to open the tailgate using foot movement. The signal transmission of the actuator works according to the Hall principle. At the same time, the control unit counts the teeth of the spindle internally, which makes it possible to determine at which position the tailgate is.
