Functionality lambda sensor heater
The lambda sensor heater is an essential element in the exhaust gas purification system of cars. It enables the lambda sensor to be heated quickly to its optimum operating temperature of around 350°C. This function is particularly relevant during cold starts or short trips, when the engine does not yet generate enough heat.
Accelerated heating allows the lambda sensor to respond more quickly, which improves emissions control. In this way, it contributes to compliance with emission standards and helps to reduce environmental pollution. If the lambda sensor heater is defective, exhaust emissions can deteriorate, so regular checks are essential.
