Function of engine oil pressure system

Engine oil pressure is one of the most important things that must function flawlessly in the engine. This is because if there is too little oil pressure, it can quickly lead to engine damage. The engine oil pump, which generates the oil pressure, is located in the oil pan of the engine.

If this no longer functions properly, the engine will suffer from insufficient lubrication. If another part of the oil supply no longer works properly, the engine can go into a so-called emergency run. In emergency operation, as much oil pressure as possible is always produced to prevent insufficient lubrication. This is controlled by an oil pressure control valve.
