Function of electric fan
The job of an electric fan in a vehicle is to cool the engine to allow it to operate within an optimal temperature window. The electric fan is located behind the water radiator on most vehicles and draws fresh air from the outside through the radiator to the engine block.
The fan consists of an electric motor and rotor blades. The engine control unit can control the electric fan more or less depending on the ambient conditions. For example, should the air conditioning in the vehicle be turned on, the electric fan will run at 100% capacity on most vehicles.
