Functionality crankshaft sensor
The crankshaft sensor, also known as the crankshaft position sensor, is an essential component in the engine management system of modern cars. It detects the position and rotational speed of the crankshaft, providing the engine control unit with precise information about the current engine cycle.
This allows it to optimally control ignition and injection and optimize engine performance and fuel consumption. The sensor usually works on the principle of the magnetic Hall sensor or the inductive sensor. Failures in the crankshaft sensor can lead to a variety of problems, including misfire, increased fuel consumption, or even engine failure.
