Typical consequences

If this defect is detected, it may lead to the following problems:

  • Engine damage
  • Failure of the exhaust emission test (Failure to pass the exhaust emission test)

Functionality boost pressure sensor

The boost pressure sensor, part of the electronic engine management system of modern turbocharged engines, is used together with the mass air flow sensor to determine the amount of air drawn in. It is mounted on the side of the intake manifold and helps to determine and optimize fuel quantity and raw emissions.

This precision is crucial for lambda-controlled fuel injection, which is prevalent in modern vehicles. Precise metering of the injected fuel ensures that the conversion of pollutants in the catalytic converter takes place under the right conditions, producing an optimum composition of exhaust gases.
