Hey, thanks for the answer! My Tourneo now has 73252 km on it. A previous owner had the car before I bought it and he stated that he always serviced it regularly. Now that you mention it, it really could be the boost pressure regulator, annoying if it really is going to cost 1520 euros, but at least it's a clue. I'll take the car to the garage and see what they say. Thanks again for the help!

Moin, no problem, that's what we're here for! Yes, the mileage actually still sounds pretty good. The boost pressure regulator shouldn't be such a bitch. Maybe your previous owner was unlucky and the regulator was an assembly product from the start...? But yes, have it checked in a workshop. Maybe you'll find one cheaper than mine - I can still feel the pain at the thought of the bill... Anyway, good luck with it and let us know how it went. I'd be really interested to know if it was the boost controller for you too. Keep your chin up!

Hey, thanks for the reply again! That really sheds some light on things! I'll try my luck at the garage. Hopefully I'll find one that's not as expensive as yours - I really don't fancy such a horrendous bill! But you're right, it's important to get it checked first before it gets any worse. I'll definitely let you know as soon as I know more. Thanks again for your advice and words of encouragement. Take care of yourself!

I'm not really a mechanic, but I've just had a similar problem with my 2005 Ford Transit. It was a real mess! It was also due to the boost pressure regulator, which was electrically defective. I had to have mine towed to the garage, where they took 1520 euros out of my pocket to replace it. Since then, the car has been running like clockwork again. Of course, it could be something else in your case. Could you perhaps provide a little more information about your car? Mileage, any previous owners or anything like that? Then I might be able to help a little more precisely. Until then - good luck with the solution!
