Ford Mondeo Diesel 2019: Loss of power, problems starting and high fuel consumption - troubleshooting help needed

Shaking while idling

Poor fuel economy

Engine shuts off by itself

Loss of engine power

Check engine light on

Car won't start

Jerking on acceleration

Hi guys, I've recently started having a strange problem with my 2019 Ford Mondeo diesel. It's showing some specs: Loss of power, the check engine light is on, the engine just stalls, jerks when accelerating, the car won't start, poor fuel economy and it jerks at idle. I think I need to reset the quantity drift compensation, but I'm not entirely sure. Have any of you had similar experiences or know how I can isolate the problem? Would love to know how this was fixed at your garage. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey, I know the problem. Had something similar with my 2017 Ford Galaxy, have to say I only have some experience with cars so am not a professional. When the same symptoms appeared, I took my car to my trusted garage and they found that the injectors were not tuned. I had to have them tuned, which cost me 45 euros. Have you read out your car? More details would be helpful.

Hey, thanks for your answer! No, I haven't read out the car yet. I'll probably do that next. My last inspection was at 71447 km and there was no mention of injectors or anything like that. Shouldn't they have noticed that then? I just have no idea about that sort of thing... It's just really annoying. But the 45 euros wouldn't be a problem if it really was the fault. Just no major damage, that would be a horror. I'll see what the fault memory says and get back to you. Thanks again for the tip!

No problem man, glad to hear my suggestion was helpful. Now, not every inspection covers everything, sometimes certain things can be overlooked. Or sometimes the problem doesn't show up until after the inspection, that's just the thing about car problems, they often show up unexpectedly. And yes, great sympathy for your worries about expensive repairs. I feel the same way, you always hope that it's something small that's easy to fix - and as I said, the injectors only cost me 45 euros. So, have your car read out and check the fault memory. You can then share the info here, maybe I or someone else can help you a bit better. Keep your fingers crossed that it's nothing major. Let me know how it goes!

Really, thanks for the encouragement and your good wishes. I will definitely try to read out the fault memory and see what the car tells me. Your experience has given me some hope. Yes, expensive repairs are always a nightmare that you want to avoid. So, I'm going to take my car to the garage soon and we'll see what happens. I'll definitely get back to you and share the latest info, maybe you'll have a new tip for me or someone else here can help me out. Thanks again and see you soon!
