Hey, thanks for sharing your experience. It seems that I actually have the same problem as you. Do you remember how much it cost you to replace the control unit? I'm a bit worried about the cost and want to be as prepared as possible. And have you had any other issues with your Focus since the repair? Thanks in advance!

Hey, sure, no problem, I'm happy to share that with you. So, the last time I was at the garage, they took care of it and fixed the fault in the engine control unit. Since then, my car has been running like clockwork again, no more worries about unexpected breakdowns or engines that are acting up. I had to fork out a bit of money to fix this sporadically faulty communication between the control units, it cost around €955. But hey, what won't you do for your car, right? Fortunately, everything has been tutti with my Focus since then and no further problems have arisen. Hope that helps you! Good luck with the repair!

Hey, wow, that's a considerable amount of money, but I think you're right. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet, especially when it comes to safety. Glad to hear you haven't had any more problems since then. I will follow your advice and have already made an appointment with a recommended garage. Now I'm at least a little reassured and hope they can find and fix the problem quickly. Your help has really helped me. Thanks again and have a safe journey!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2015 Ford Focus. My problem was the sporadic faulty communication between the control units. It was really annoying because sometimes the car just wouldn't start and there was also a loss of power. It turned out that the control unit was faulty and had to be replaced. It wasn't the easiest thing to do because it took time to find the fault, but it was definitely necessary. The garage where I finally had it done did a really good job. So I can advise you, if you experience similar symptoms, you should visit a workshop as soon as possible and have your control unit checked. So, yes, it was a serious problem, but replacing the ECU solved it. Good luck with your car!
