Hi, thanks for your reply and the tips, really bloody annoying the whole thing. My Kuga has a gasoline engine, but the problem seems to be very similar. Sounds like replacing the DPF is a possible solution. Do you remember what you paid at the garage back then? And have you had any further problems since then or am I on the safe side with the repair? Thank you very much for your help!

Hey, no problem, I'm happy to help where I can. Jo, since I've been in the workshop, the fault with the exhaust back pressure sensor has been rectified. I had to fork out €1325 at the time because the DPF was severely overloaded. That was really bad and a lot of money, but since then my Ford Focus has been running like clockwork again. I haven't had any further problems since then. Of course I can't guarantee 100% that it will be the same for you, but I think you're on the safe side with the repair. All the best and hopefully the problem will be solved quickly!

Wow, that's a lot of money, but if it helps, then it's worth it. I now have a better insight and feel well prepared for my workshop visit. Thank you for the experience and the tips. I hope that my Kuga will run like clockwork again. Thanks again! I'll let you know when I have any news. Until then, have a safe journey!

Moin, had the same problem with my Ford Focus (diesel engine) from 2015, was a real nightmare. My DPF was completely overloaded, also this black smoke and loss of power was a problem for me. In the end, it turned out to be a bit more serious as the DPF didn't just need cleaning, it needed to be completely replaced. Some people recommend cleaning it, but often this is only a short-term solution and sooner or later problems occur. It may be better to do enough miles on the highway to activate the DPF regeneration. Take care of your sensor and take it to the garage as a precaution. Another tip: find a mechanic who is well versed in diesel particulate filters. That helped me quite a bit last time. Good luck with that!
