Ford Explorer Diesel 2015: Overheating problems and low coolant level

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Coolant level low

Overheating

Hey guys, I have a question. I drive a Ford Explorer Diesel from 2015 with 76385 km on the odometer. Recently a warning light has come on in the speedometer, it is constantly overheating and the coolant level is low. I'm worried that it could be due to the PTC heater. Have any of you had similar problems and can tell me what the mechanic thought? My last experience with the garage wasn't great, so I'm hoping for your help. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had exactly the same problem with my 2018 Ford Ranger. The symptoms were identical. It turned out that the "electric auxiliary heater" was defective. This is apparently a fairly common problem with these cars. The repair wasn't exactly a walk in the park because the thing is pretty hidden and hard to reach. So yes, it's definitely a serious problem. But once it was fixed, the car ran like clockwork again. So, get it checked by a garage as soon as possible. Hope that helps!

Hey, thanks for your answer! That sounds exactly like my problem. It's a bit annoying... Can you remember how much the repair cost you? And did the problem have any subsequent damage or has everything gone smoothly since the repair?

Hey, of course I still remember the repair costs, that was no mean feat! I paid €350 for all the fun with the electric auxiliary heater. But since the mechanic fixed the problem with the malfunctioning PTC heater, the Ford has been running like clockwork again, with no further damage or problems. So despite the cost, it was definitely worth getting it fixed. So, cheer up and off to the garage!

Thank you very much for the quick and detailed reply! That reassures me a little to know that it's a known problem and that it hasn't caused any further damage. So I probably won't be able to avoid going to the garage. Hopefully the damage can be repaired for a similar cost. Your help was really worth its weight in gold, thanks again!

Hi . How to fix this code B10EA , on ford fiesta ecoboost1.0 2015

The B10EA code on a Ford Fiesta indicates a problem with the climate control system, specifically with the temperature flap motor. This could be due to a faulty motor, a wiring issue, or a problem with the control unit. Start by checking the wiring and connections for any visible damage or loose connections. If everything looks fine, you might need to have the motor or control unit checked by a professional. Please remember, if you're not comfortable doing these checks yourself, it's always best to take your car to a mechanic. Can you update us on your progress?
