Ford Cmax: Irregular charge indicator light - What could be the problem?

I have a problem with my Ford Cmax. The check engine light comes on and the charge indicator light normally goes out after starting. But after 2 to 5 minutes it turns on again, goes off while driving and then on again, and so on. This condition has been going on for over half a year and it is quite annoying. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be and how I can fix it?

It sounds like there might be an issue with your alternator or battery. Start by checking the battery terminals for any corrosion and make sure they're tightly connected. If the problem persists, it would be a good idea to have your battery and alternator tested at a local auto parts store. Most stores will do this for free. Please update us on your progress.
