Overheating

Hi guys, I have a strange problem with my Ford B MAX (gasoline, year of manufacture 2017). The indicator light is flashing, the car is overheating and the coolant level is low. In addition, a warning light is illuminated in the speedometer. I suspect that the auxiliary water pump is not working properly. Has anyone ever experienced something like this and can give me tips on how to fix it? What did your garage do to get it running again and what experiences have you had? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Ford C MAX (diesel, year of manufacture 2015). My expertise is limited, but I do know a bit about cars. I had a similar problem with the indicator light. I then went to the garage. They found that the cable on the pump/control unit was defective. I paid around 225 euros for it and since then everything has worked again. Maybe you have the same problem? Have they already looked for the cable in the workshop? However, I can't help you any further without more details about your car. Which model do you have exactly and how far has it run? I would be interested to know if there are any particular symptoms.

Hey, thanks for the tip! I drive a 2017 Ford B MAX and it already has 138929 km on the clock. I haven't had the cable checked at the garage yet, but I will ask about this specifically. Since you had a similar problem, it doesn't sound so unlikely. However, I haven't noticed any other specific symptoms. Apart from those already mentioned, of course.

Hey, no problem, gladly! Your Ford has already done a few kilometers, so the cable could really be the problem. I would definitely address this at the next workshop visit. If there are no other symptoms, that really sounds like a possibility. Help always costs money, of course, but it's still better than risking the car overheating or even breaking down. I hope this has helped you. Let me know if you have any more information or if the garage has found out anything. Have a safe journey!

Hello, thank you very much for your help and support! As there are no other symptoms, I will actually focus on the cable and have this checked out in the workshop. It's a good feeling to know that there may be a solvable and financially manageable solution. I'll definitely keep you posted as soon as there's any news. Thanks again and keep your chin up!
