The repair fixed my smoke and emissions issues completely. The engine runs smooth now with no more sluggish idle or power loss. Since the PCV valve replacement and intake cleaning, maintenance has been normal with no related problems showing up. Have you gotten a quote for the repair yet? When I had mine done, costs varied quite a bit between shops, so its worth checking a few places. Just curious about what repair prices are running these days for this kind of valve work.

Great to hear your car is running better. After seeing my mechanic, the crankcase ventilation valve malfunction was completely resolved on my A4 too. The repair totaled 360 Euro, which included replacing the valve assembly and a thorough cleaning of the intake system. The idle is now perfectly stable and engine performance is back to normal. Regular maintenance checks show everything is working as intended with proper ventilation. The investment was worth it to prevent more serious engine issues down the line. This seems to be a fairly standard price range for this type of valve repair, though costs can vary based on labor rates and parts availability. The important thing is the fix should last if done properly with quality parts.

Thanks for the repair update. I finally got my car fixed last week after getting several quotes. The most reasonable shop charged 450 Euro for the complete PCV valve replacement and intake cleaning. The whole process took about 5 hours. The mechanic showed me the old valve which was completely gunked up, explaining why my engine had such poor idle and emissions problems. Since the repair, the blue smoke is completely gone and acceleration feels smooth again. Regular maintenance checks show all systems working normally now. Best part is no more check engine light or power issues. The shop also did a thorough inspection to make sure there was no additional damage from the malfunctioning valve. Definitely worth getting it done properly rather than letting it get worse.

Had similar issues with my 2015 Audi A4 2.0T. The symptoms match a common PCV valve failure, which causes excessive crankcase pressure. When the PCV system fails, engine oil gets pulled into the intake, leading to that blue smoke you see from the exhaust. The repair needed complete PCV valve replacement, along with cleaning the intake manifold due to oil contamination. It was a serious issue that required immediate attention, as continuing to drive risks damaging the turbocharger and catalytic converter. The smoke during acceleration happens because excess oil gets burned in the combustion chamber when the crankcase pressure cant properly vent. The power loss occurs because the PCV valve stuck in a closed position, creating vacuum issues that affect engine performance. The fix lasted about 6 hours at the shop. They replaced the PCV valve, breather assembly, and cleaned the intake system. This resolved both the smoke issue and restored proper engine performance. Would recommend getting it checked soon, as delayed repairs often lead to more extensive engine damage.
