Fixing Gear Selection Display and Warning Light Issues in 2004 Fiat Multipla: Insights on Potential Clutch Pedal Switch Malfunction

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Gear selection display in the speedometer without function

Hey, I'm having a bit of an issue with my 2004 Fiat Multipla, Gasoline engine model. Recently, the gear selection display in the speedometer stopped working and a warning light popped up on the vehicle’s speedometer. I'm suspecting it could be due to a malfunctioning clutch pedal switch. Has anyone else experienced this and found a fix? I'd love to hear about your experiences dealing with this problem and how you sorted it out in your workshop. Cheers!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2002 Fiat Scudo Diesel not too long ago. In spite of having low experience in car mechanics, I tried to tackle the problem myself. Went to my small but mighty workshop and got into it. The issue was indeed with the cable connection/plug to the clutch switch, it was faulty. Cost me around 95 Euro to get it all sorted, and I was back on the road in no time. Out of curiosity, had any recent work done on your Multipla before this issue popped up? Any extra info could help pinpoint if it's the same issue I had. Good luck, buddy!

Hey! Thanks for the response. No recent work done. Just the last routine service when the odometer hit 118087km. And yeah, thanks for sharing your experience. I'll give the cable connection a check and see if it's the same issue. I hope it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg!

Hey, back again! No problem at all, happy to share. Sounds like you're on the right track checking that cable connection. My 2002 Fiat Scudo had a similar mileage when the problem cropped up. I can't promise it won't cost you some, but if my experience is anything to go by, it certainly won't be an arm and a leg. Just be patient with it and you should be back up to speed soon. Anyway, sure enough, be sure to update us on what you find. We are here to help each other, aren't we? Take care and good luck!

Hey again! Absolutely, you nailed it, we're all here to lend a hand to each other. Thanks for the boost. I'm actually relieved to hear that if it is the same issue, the cost won't be through the roof. Got my fingers crossed. As soon as I crack this, I'll share an update. Cheers for the advice and encouragement. You take care too!
