Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience with your Bravo, it sounds pretty similar indeed. I reckon you're right about the sensor, it might be worth getting it looked over by a reliable mechanic. By the way, just out of curiosity, do you remember roughly what it set you back to get that sensor issue in your car fixed? And have you had any other related issues crop up since it was sorted out? Cheers!
Hey again, Sure thing, happy to share! So, when I took my Bravo in for the speed sensor fuss, the cost came to around 250€. A bit pinchy to the pocket, I know, but better than risking a full-blown meltdown in my opinion. Ever since the mechanic tinkered around and fixed the fan speed sensor, the car's been running smoothly, no more A/C jazz or overheat scares. Guess it did the trick! Hope your Tipo gets sorted out as nicely. Good luck! Take care!
Hey! That fan speed sensor issue certainly does sound similar to what's going on with my Tipo. Thanks for letting me know about the price as well, a bit steeper than I was hoping but if it gets her running smoothly again, it’ll be worth it. I am feeling a bit more optimistic now and will be taking the car to the mechanic tomorrow to diagnose the exact issue and hopefully get it sorted. Once again, thank you for sharing your experience, certainly helps alleviate the worry of dealing with an unfriendly mechanic. Cheers! And hope your Bravo continues running smoothly.
Hey there! So, funny you should mention the Fiat Tipo because I actually drive a 2012 Fiat Bravo, not too different from yours. A while back, my car was showing similar signs. It wasn't overheating as much as yours but the A/C was a mess. After having the mechanic look it over, it turned out to be a wonky speed sensor indeed. The fan speed sensor wasn't passing enough info to the ECU, causing it to misjudge when to kick the radiator fan into gear. So, it gave me the same issues you're experiencing now. It wasn't a life-threatening situation for the car, but in the longer run, it could've caused some serious damage. Sorted it out at the garage and everything smoothed out pretty much straight away. Not saying yours is exactly the same issue, but might be worth having a mechanic you trust take a gander at the sensor. Best of luck!
