Hey Spot on with the comparison you're making with your Fiat Bravo, sounds like we're on the same boat. It's awesome to hear yours got fixed with just the reprogramming of the steering angle sensor. Got to admit, it's given me some breathing space knowing the issue is doable. Just out of curiosity, do you remember how much it cost you to set things right? Also, has anything else flared up since you got it fixed? Thanks for sharing your experience really appreciate it! Cheers!
Hey there, Ah, the good ol' cash question! To sort out the faulty coding of the steering angle sensor, I had to part ways with 195€. A bit of a sting to the wallet, but honestly, it was worth every cent considering how it fixed things up. And to answer your second query, since the mechanic gave my Fiat Bravo the all-clear, it's been smooth sailing - or should I say, smooth driving, ha! The issue with the steering angle sensor hasn't reared its head since then. So, in my books, the cost was a small price to pay for the peace of mind and the hassle-free drives I've been enjoying ever since. Hope your car gets back in shape soon too, dude. Cheers!
Hey, 195 € does sound like a sting, but like you said, if it fixes the issue, then it's totally worth spending the bucks. Really glad to hear that your Fiat Bravo hasn't given you any further trouble! Honestly, you sharing your experience has been a considerable help - gave me a ballpark figure for the cost and reassured me that it's fixable. Fingers crossed my beloved Fiat Stilo gets back on track soon and I can enjoy those hassle-free drives just like you! Thanks for the guidance it's gonna be a saving grace when I finally brave the mechanic's. Catch ya on the flip side! Cheers!
Hey Funny thing, had a similar issue with my '10 Fiat Bravo not long ago. From what you've described, it certainly sounds like the steering angle sensor. The symptoms you're describing line up with what I experienced: the ABS/DSC quitting, a rough steering wheel, and the power steering going on a bit of a vacation. Personally, at the garage, they confirmed it was in fact the coding of the steering angle sensor which was incorrect. It seems like a small thing but it can really throw everything off. They had to reprogram it to fix the issue. Once that was done, voila! It was like having a brand new car. Everything started working properly again. No more juddery steering wheel, and the power steering was back on its feet, or should I say, wheels. So yeah, in my experience, your suspicion about the steering angle sensor might be spot on. It definitely was a serious issue when I faced it, though luckily not something unfixable. Best of luck getting this sorted and hopefully you'll be back on the road without a hitch soon!
