Fiat Siena '08 Heated Window Failure: Seeking Troubleshooting Tips

Fault stored

|

Heated windows without function

Hey! I'm dealing with some issues in my '08 Fiat Siena (gasoline engine, 79507 km). Suddenly the heated windows gave up, and there's a fault stored in the system. I suspect it's something to do with the rear window heating function. Anybody experienced similar problems or knows what could be causing this? I'm hesitant seeing a mechanic without any clue, since my last visit didn’t go so well. Always good to hear from fellow car geeks!

Hey! I saw your post and realized that I had a similar issue with my '11 Fiat Bravo last year. My mechanic had checked the electrical system and found the issue was not the rear window heating function but my vehicle battery was weak. It couldn't sustain the load for all the electric systems, which caused my heater to conk out. Sometimes the symptoms can trick you, it's not necessarily a serious issue but ignoring it could lead to one. I'd recommend getting the battery checked out; don't sweat it too much just yet. Best of luck!

Hey there, really appreciate you sharing your experience with the Fiat Bravo. That totally makes sense, didn't think about the battery at all. I'll definitely get it checked. Just curious, do you remember how much you shelled out for the fix? And have any other electrical problems occurred after sorting this one?

Hey again! Yeah, I remember the fix of my battery issue clearly. It set me back about 290 Euro, not a small sum by any means but worth every cent to keep the old girl, aka my Fiat Bravo, running smoothly. After the battery issue was sorted, everything else seemed raring to go! I was particularly relieved when the rear window heating problem went away after the mechanic's visit. Just goes to show, sometimes what seems like a big issue is simply a symptom pointing towards another problem. Hope this helps you out. Good luck with your Siena!

Oh, that's a relief! You really made me feel better about the whole situation. 290 Euro doesn't sound cheap, but keeping my Fiat Siena in top condition is my priority. Better the battery than something worse, right? And electrical problems can be such a headache; glad to know yours got resolved. I'll have my battery checked asap and keep my fingers crossed it doesn't lead to anything major. Thanks again for sharing your experience, I appreciate it!
