Hey there! Thanks for sharing your experience, it surely sounds familiar. So my hunch about the tank vent valve wasn't too far off then. Now I'm just wondering, do you happen to remember how much damage fixing your Fiat Bravo did to your wallet? Has any other issue popped up since the repairs? Thanks again for your help.
Hey again! Yeah, your hunch was pretty spot on. As far as the cost goes, it came to about 175€ for replacing and fixing up the hoses. I can tell you it's been worth every penny. Since the visit to the mechanic, the tank vent valve issue got sorted and I can confirm there haven't been any new issues cropping up with my Bravo. It's been running as smoothly as a kitten purrs, touch wood! Guess it just goes to show, even though we might have had some bad experiences, not all mechanics are out to get us! I hope this helps out!
Cheers! That puts my mind at ease, to say the least. I reckon I've been overly hesitant due to my prior bad experience. But hearing about your positive one, I think I'll give my local mechanic a shot. The price also sounds reasonable considering the trouble these issues have been giving me. Here's hoping my Gasoline Fiat Sedici runs as smooth as your Bravo post repairs. Thanks again for lending your ear and advice, appreciate it tons!
Hey I feel your pain. My 2009 Fiat Bravo had similar symptoms not long ago. Funny enough, the mechanic spotted some issues with the hoses of my motor. You see, there was a faulty hose that connected the tank vent valve to the charcoal canister. The mechanic ended up replacing some of the hoses. Trust me, the difference was like night and day, no more engine stalling, shaking, or power loss. Don't get it twisted though, it wasn't a cakewalk, they spent a bit of time under the hood sorting it out. But my car's been running smooth as butter since then. So yes, it was pretty serious but well worth fixing. Hopefully, that helps a bit.
