Fiat Multipla's 2005 Model Spray Nozzles Freezing Issue: Seeking Solutions

Spray nozzles frozen

Hey all! I've got a 2005 Fiat Multipla, gasoline engine, sitting at around 177,545 km mileage, and I've run into a frustrating issue with the spray nozzles freezing up. Do you reckon it would be due to a malfunctioning Spray nozzle heater? Had a rocky experience with a mechanic before, so I'm trying to get a handle on this myself. Any of you faced similar issues and how did your mechanic handle it? Cheers in advance!

Hey there, I really feel your pain on this one! Just a while ago, I had a similar kind of issue with my 2002 Fiat Punto. A pesky cable connection was defective, which was messing up my headlight control. It wasn't a major crisis, but it did take some time to fix. They basically had to take the whole console apart just to reach it and do the proper diagnostic. It turned out to be a combination of age and corrosion that was causing the wiring issue. Once they got in there, they unhooked the defective cable, cleaned the connectors thoroughly, spliced in a new cable and everything went back to normal. So, just based on my experience, it could be that your spray nozzles are fine, but maybe it's a faulty cable or connector that's causing your spray nozzle heater to act up or not operate at all. It might take some time to diagnose and fix, but it's definitely worth getting sorted. Safe driving!

Hey, thanks for the response! It's impressive how something like a dodgy cable can make such a mess, isn't it? Really helps to have a bit more insight into what might be going on with my old Multipla. Definitely saves me from playing a guessing game with my mechanic. If you don't mind me asking, do you remember roughly what you had to drop in terms of cash to get that sorted? And has anything else cropped up since you got the cabling issue fixed? Just want to know what I might be getting myself into. Cheers!

Hey! Yeah, a little wire can indeed cause quite a pickle, hard to believe sometimes, I know! Regarding the price, it cost me about 155€ to pull that pesky cable back into line. Not too shabby, right? The good news? After the blokes patched things up, all the other issues magically vanished, too. Remember that troublesome Spray nozzle heater issue I mentioned? Fixed, as if the car fairy waved her magic wand! Haven't had a single snag since then, touchwood. So, going through the ordeal was definitely worth the peace of mind. Just remember it's never wasted money if it helps keep your ride running smooth and safe! Peace out!

Ah, cheers for the info! €155 doesn't seem too steep, especially if it means sorting out the whole shebang. I reckon it's time to have a sit down with my mechanic and let him know what's up before he starts his tinkering. Wouldn't mind a visit from the car fairy myself right now! Appreciate the insight and sharing your experience. You've definitely helped put things in perspective for me. Until next time, safe travels!
