Hey, appreciate you breaking it down! Your situation sounds a lot like my own adventure with this fiesty Doblo. Good to know it wasn't as hair-raising as I first thought - 'volcano' or 'Antarctica,' quite the analogy there! Couldn't help but wonder, do you recall how much the fix set you back? Don't want to be hauled over the coals again. And has anything else cropped up since this thermostat glitch and control unit defect got sorted out? Any other surprises under the Fiat's hood I should prepare for? Cheers!
Hey, good to see you're keeping your spirits up. About your question, the repair did cost me a bit, roughly around 350€ to fix the electric auxiliary heater malfunction. Not the cheapest, I know, but at least it got sorted. Since then, though, my Fiat's been running smoother than a well-oiled machine - no more surprises or glitches to report! So, in my experience, once you weather the storm and get the heater sorted out, you should be good to go. Fingers crossed your Fiat will be blowin' just the right amount of hot and cold in no time! Good luck!
That's encouraging to hear! So, around 350 €, well... I suppose peace of mind has its price. Good to know that your Fiat has been behaving well since. Crossing my fingers, I won't encounter any more funny business after getting the heater sorted. Appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It's given me a sense of what to expect out of this situation. Here's to hoping my Doblo will soon dish out the perfect weather, no more 'volcano' or 'Antarctica', just lovely springs and autumns from here on out! Cheers!
Hey there, funny you mention it. I had a similar issue with my '15 Fiat Punto last year. The crazy auxiliary heater was acting up, blowing either too hot or too bone-chilling cold, no between at all. Much like your Doblo, right? Turned out, the culprit in my case was a dodgy thermostat. The mechanic discovered it wasn't reading the temperature correctly. This caused the heater to go on a rampage - either "volcano" or "Antarctica", nothing in between. On top of that, there was this defect with the electric auxiliary heater. My mechanic explained it was some sort of glitch in the heating system control unit. Apparently, it's not an uncommon issue with some of these Fiat models. I must say, it did sound quite scary at first. But really, it was more of a nuisance than a serious problem. Once identified, the mechanic got it sorted fairly quickly. Mind you, this ain't a DIY job, so you'd better leave it to the pros. Just my two pennies. Hope it helps you a bit before marching into the mechanic's den. Stay strong!
