Hey, this sounds eerily familiar to the issue I had with my Doblo a while back. It was a temperamental battery temperature sensor for sure., I recall my local mechanic handling the repair, but the cost detail is a bit foggy. Do you remember how much you shelled out for the fix? Moreover, have you encountered any similar problems since the repair? Cheers!
Hey there, Funnily enough, I still have the receipt from my local garage tucked away. So, for the quirk with the battery temperature sensor on my Punto, I was set back by around 315€. This covered both labor and part replacement. Certainly wasn’t any small change but seemed fair considering how it sorted out my electrical woes. Since the fix, it's been smooth sailing on the electrical front. No further dimming or morning grumbles from the car, since the battery is now reading the right temperature and charging as it should. Hope your Doblo follows the same path! Cheers!
Hey, thanks for the insights and for checking that old receipt,. That cost detail gave me some perspective on what to prepare myself for. If replacing the battery temperature sensor sorted your similar issues and no problems have popped up since, it seems a decent bet for my Doblo as well. Feels great to know what I’m possibly diving into before I schedule a meeting with my mechanic. Cheers guys!
Hey there, I ran into a similar situation with my '07 Fiat Grande Punto. Lights flickering and feeble morning starts, just like your Doblo. Turns out, the issue did revolve around a defective battery temperature sensor. I remember the conversation at my local garage. They explained to me that the battery temperature sensor plays an important part in charging system diagnostics. It monitors the battery temperature and adjusts the battery charging rate accordingly. So, if the sensor's faulty, it could have been 'telling' your car to undercharge or overcharge the battery, both of which aren't great for battery health and can replicate the symptoms you're seeing. Luckily for me, fixing it didn't involve any heavy mechanical work, just the replacement of the sensor. The whole procedure was fairly straightforward and it pretty much sorted out all the issues I had been experiencing. Hope this is of some help. Let us know how you get on! Cheers.
