Key fob issues

Hey there! Thanks for sharing that, nice to know I'm not just dealing with some sort of possessed key fob or something! Good on you for getting it all sorted so quickly. Just out of curiosity, do you recall roughly what the cost was for fixing this dodgy cable? Just trying to budget a bit here. And since it's been fixed, have you noticed anything else quirky happening? These Fiat models sure have some character, don't they? Cheers!
Hey, no worries at all! I tell you what, this key fob thing would give anyone a proper fright - felt like my car had some sinister ghost messing about for a while there! As for the cost, you're in luck, 'cause I do remember it. The mechanic charged me around 260€ for sorting out the mess with the cable and bumper antenna. A bit steep, I know, but considering the peace of mind it has brought me, it was worth every penny. The car's been behaving like a proper gent since then, no more haunted key fob, thank goodness. As for any other peculiarities, quite frankly, not a thing since the antenna got fixed. Gave the old Fiat a bit of a health check and she's been running smoothly. But, yeah, you got that right - these Fiat models sure do have their quirks! Cheers!
Hey! I cannot agree more about this fob situation turning one's mood topsy-turvy, felt like living through a thriller flick! That price tag though! Bit rich for my blood, but hey, if it's gonna exorcise the ghost in my car, then it's absolutely worth it. Peace of mind isn't free, right? Glad to hear that your Fiat's been in tiptop shape, gives me hope for mine. Taking the plunge and booking my mechanic appointment tomorrow, wish me luck! If this little problem is the only oddity I have to deal with, I'd consider myself a satisfied Fiat owner. I suppose these kinks are part of the charm. Thanks a bunch for the help, and drive safely! Cheers!
Hey! Yep, I ran into this same issue with my 2018 Fiat Argo. Same mileage too, quite the coincidence. Problem had to do with a defective cable connecting the antenna to the key receiver in the car. My mechanic ran a series of diagnostic tests and spent a fair bit of time tracing the wiring from the antenna to where it ended up in the car. In the end, the cable needed replacing as it was failing to establish a reliable connection, causing the key fob to act all haywire. Wasn't a major issue, just a bit annoying really. Mechanic seemed to handle it no problem, got it sorted in a day. All in all, it seems to be a common issue with these models, so probably worth getting checked out if your key's playing silly buggers. Happy motoring!
