Hey! Really appreciate you sharing your experience; it's given me a clearer idea of what I might be dealing with. Funny how a single defective connection can lead to such havoc, huh? Your story reminds me though... do you happen to remember how much you had to shell out for the whole diagnostic and repair gig? Also, since the repair, have you noticed any new issues popping up or has your Stilo been behaving itself? Thanks again!
Hey, no worries at all, happy to help! Haha, yeah, it's crazy isn't it? One dodgy connection can really cause a heap of problems. Regarding the costs, after all was said and done, it came out to around €155 for sorting the defective cable connection/plug connection. Not exactly pocket change, but trust me, it was worth it! As for any new issues, you'll be happy to know that since the repair, the lousy electric power steering signal error is a thing of the past. My Stilo's handling like a dream now, hasn't thrown any tantrums like before. So yeah, I'd say it's been paying its dues since visiting the mechanic. Hope this gives you some reassurance and things go just as smooth for your Croma! Cheers!
Excellent to hear your Stilo's running smoothly after those repairs! Your experience truly does give me a breath of relief. I'm certainly ready to face the music, even if it pinches my pocket a bit. And let's be real, a safe and smooth ride is priceless, isn't it? Back to the mechanic now, wish me luck! Thanks for your insight and the heads up on cost too - much appreciated! Have a great one! Cheers!
Hey there! Interestingly enough, I had a similar issue with my '02 Fiat Stilo. The symptoms you're describing sound very familiar. I too suspected an electric power steering signal error, just like you. Took it to the garage and turns out, it was a defective cable connection/plug that was causing the majority of the issues. The ABS/DSC system and power steering were both connected to this, so when the connection got interrupted, it sent the whole system into a tizzy. It was a fairly serious fix, not going to lie. Went through a bunch of diagnostic checks before identifying the real issue. They had to properly fix the cable connection/plug which wasn't a walk in the park. Not forgetting, that raving steering wheel vibration - yikes! Turned out there were issues with the steering rack too, so that needed sorting. Anyways I'd reckon get that checked out properly before it leads to more problems. Find a trustworthy mechanic though! Best of luck with your Croma. Cheers!
