Hey bud, thanks a bunch for the insight. Glad you got yours sorted out. Sounds eerily similar to what's been happening with my Bravo. Concerning the cost, do you remember an estimate of what the mechanic took you for to get your Punto back in order? And since it's all done and dusted, did any other issues pop up related to that one? Just trying to anticipate any surprise expenses I might run into. Cheers for the help.
Hey there! Happy to help! As for the cost, it was surprisingly affordable compared to what I was fearing. I shelled out just 45.00 € for reprogramming the incorrect software values for my Punto's fuel pump. After I'd gotten that taken care of, the low pressure fuel system issue was completely resolved - hasn't given me problems since! It was well worth the investment to fix that up. Hope it goes smoothly for you too. Your Bravo will thank you for giving it the attention it needs, trust me. Cheers!
Hey, your input really put my mind at ease. I was sure as hell prepping to cough up a ton more. Once I get it sorted, I'd sure hope it turns out the same way as it did for you - a thorough, one-time fix. Getting a reliable mechanic is going to be the game plan now. Don't need any more surprises, that's for sure. Thanks again for the advice. Really appreciate you taking the time to help me out. This can be a lonely road. Cheers!
Hey, sounds like a rough spot you hit there. From the symptoms, definitely sounds like the fuel pump software values might be out of order. Had pretty much the same issue with my 2013 Fiat Punto and, tell ya, it wasn't a walk in the park. Went through a series of diagnoses. Finally found out there were incorrect software values for the fuel pump in my car. After reprogramming, the issues vanished - No stalling, jerking, excessive smoke or weird smell and the acceleration was back on spot! It was a serious issue because if left unattended, it would lead to serious damage in the fuel pump and other components too. Remember, time is of the essence here because it might affect the catalytic convertor due to the black smoke and burn a hole in your pocket later. Hope this helps ya. Listen to your car, get a reliable mechanic and sort it out. Don't be late on this one, alright? Good luck!
