Fiat Argo 2019 Model Wiper Malfunction: Potential Rain-Light Sensor Issues and Solutions

Wipers don't work properly

Hey all, I got a bit of a situation with my 2019 model of Fiat Argo. Lately, the wipers seem to be on the blink - not working properly at all. My hunch is that it could be an issue with the rain-light sensor, but I'm not completely sure. Has anyone else come across this sort of issue? How did you troubleshoot this, and what was the solution from your workshop? Would love to hear your experiences and tips. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I faced a similar issue with my 2017 Fiat Tipo. I'm no expert, but I've picked up a bit of car know-how over the years. The problem for me was bubbles under the gel pad on the windshield that caused wiper issues. Took it to my trusted workshop, they sorted it out and ran smooth as silk afterwards. Cost me around 62€. Just a heads up, exact issues may differ so it's worth checking out. Can you give more info on the vehicle - like mileage, any recent changes or repairs? This could help in diagnosing your problem better. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for your advice! The mileage on my ride is around 152784 km, and the latest service was a couple of months ago. I'm guessing the bumps haven't been kind to the rain-light sensor causing the wiper issue. Planning to get it checked at my local mechanic's soon. Cheers for your help!

Hey again! No worries at all, glad I could pitch in. I reckon you're totally on the right track getting it checked out by your local mechanic. These sensor issues can be tricky sometimes, and an experienced eye always helps. Just a side note from my personal experience: my fiat had similar wiper issues around 130,000 km in. It turned out not to be sensor-related, but a simple rubber-strip issue and a bit of a cleaner helped sort it out without sparing too many Euro. But again, each case can be different. I hope your issue also turns out to be minor. Best of luck with the repairs! And keep us posted about how it goes. Cheers!

Cool, I appreciate the extra insight! I thought of the sensor issue cause of the occasional wonky behavior even on sunny days. But I'll keep the rubber-strip thing in mind too. Might as well clean it up regardless. Off to the mechanic’s in the morning, fingers crossed it’s nothing serious. Will keep you guys posted on how it turns out. Later, and thanks again!
