Hey! Thanks for the quick reply. Thumbs up for your local workshop, sounds like they know their stuff. Since my last service (which was at 116,581 km), there were no major issues. The mechanics had the oil filter and the spark plugs replaced, along regular checks on brakes and battery. The car ran smoothly until recently when the cooling-heating issue started. Given your experience, I might just have to bring it in to let the pros diagnose it. Maybe it's the water valve or a simple cable issue like yours. Appreciate your two cents! Cheers!
Hey, no problem at all! Glad I could give some input. The issue seems really familiar to me. It might indeed be an issue similar to mine, but it’s always better safe than sorry. Given the current condition and past maintenance of your Fiat, I'd say it's better to get the pro engineers to look at it. Keep in mind though that these kinds of faults can sometimes be a bit tricky to diagnose precisely. I think you mentioned that your last service was at 116,581 km and since then, things have been smooth until now. From what I understand, it's probably a localized issue with your cooling-heating system but again, don't take my word as gospel. If I were you, I’d get hold of my trusty workshop tomorrow and have them take a proper gander. Remember to tell them about the issue explicitly. Your issue might either be a faulty water valve or a loose cable, either way, they should be able to suss it out. Just a heads up, if it's a case of a damaged water valve, the cost can go slightly above what I paid. Let's hope for the best. Do keep us updated, will ya?! Fingers crossed it's something small. Good luck!
Hey, thanks a ton for your advice! I really value your input, it's been quite helpful. I've already called up my regular workshop and they've booked me in for the first slot tomorrow morning. Agreed, tricky to say what the actual root cause could be but your experience gives me a fair idea of what to expect. I'll make sure to tell them everything you've suggested. If it's an issue with the water valve, it might be a bit heavier on my pocket but I guess I just have to bite the bullet. Fingers crossed it's just a small cable issue or something. Will definitely keep you guys posted about the outcome. Once again, thanks for your help and here's hoping it's a minor fix! Catch ya later!
Hey there! Funnily enough, I remember running into something very similar with my 2018 Fiat Tipo. I don't claim to be an expert, but I do know a thing or two about cars. When I had this issue, it turned out to be a faulty cable connection or a defective water valve plug. After a bit of struggling, I took it to my trusty local workshop. The guys identified the problem quickly and had it sorted in no time. The bill was pretty reasonable too - came in at 155€. If I could know more about your vehicle's maintenance history, it might give me a better understanding of what you're dealing with. Let me know! P.S. It's always best to have a professional take a look, they've got the eye for this kind of stuff.
