Alarm system malfunctions

Thanks for sharing your experience! Sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with, unusual alarms giving me and my neighbors headaches. This gives me some hope that it's fixable. Hey, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? And has everything been smooth sailing since then, or did you run into any other electrical gremlins?
Hey again! Yeah, of course I can help! After my last post, I actually took the car to my mechanic and got everything sorted out. The total bill came to 155€ which covered fixing that pesky cable connection that was causing all the trouble. You know what's great? The Communication siren alarm system that was driving me (and probably my neighbors!) crazy is now working perfectly. Since getting it fixed, everything's been running smooth as silk, no more unusual alarms going off in the middle of the night or any other electrical issues. My Galant's been behaving like a charm. Honestly, it was worth every penny just for the peace of mind. One piece of advice though, make sure you get a mechanic who knows their stuff when it comes to car electronics. Not everyone does, and you don't want someone just poking around blindly in there. But once it's fixed properly, you should be good to go! Let me know how you get on with yours!
Thanks so much for all the details! I actually took your advice and got it fixed last week. Found a mechanic who specializes in car electronics, what a difference it makes when you find someone who knows their stuff! Turned out my issue was pretty similar to yours, corroded wiring and a wonky door sensor. Bill came to about 180€ in the end, bit more than yours but still worth every cent. The best part? No more embarrassing middle-of-the-night alarms! My neighbors are probably as relieved as I am. The mechanic also gave the whole system a good once-over and cleaned up some other connections that were starting to look iffy. Car's running like a dream now. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction, saved me a lot of headache trying to figure this out on my own! Take care!
Hey there, I had a similar problem with my 2004 Mitsubishi Galant last year. The alarm would unsual go off in the middle of the night and sometimes wouldn't arm at all. Turned out it was a faulty cable connection between the alarm module and the main harness. The wire insulation had worn out over time, causing intermittent connection issues. Took it to my local shop, and they had to trace the entire alarm wiring system. Found corroded terminals and a pinched wire near the driver's side door. They had to replace a section of the wiring harness and clean up all the connection points. Also needed a new door sensor since moisture had gotten in there. It wasn't a major mechanical issue, but definitely annoying and needed proper attention to fix it right. These problems usually don't fix themselves and tend to get worse over time. Make sure whoever works on it knows their way around automotive electrical systems, it's not something every mechanic is comfortable with. Haven't had any issues since the repair. Hope this helps.
